Puerto Rico Composta, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating individuals, communities, schools, and businesses about the benefits of composting. Our mission is to reduce solid waste in Puerto Rico and promote sustainable practices like composting for healthy, self-sustaining living.
Did you know that Puerto Rico generates approximately 3.6 million tons of waste annually, with 35% being compostable material needlessly sent to landfills? Additionally, 85% of our food is imported, leaving us vulnerable to disruptions in the food supply chain.
